|
|
I just found out this week that there is a possibility I might have uterine cancer, I go for my biopsy this coming Monday. I have been bleeding/clotting almost non stop for 6 months and only now have they discovered that my uterine lining is 13mm thick and that I am "Estrogen Abundant" and progesterone low. All very confusing as this seems to have come out of nowhere. My youngest daughter nursed up until last December and when she quit is when all of the bleeding started. I was concerned but was told by Dr's that it was just my first "real" period since I had stopped nursing and that all of the bleeding and clotting was perfectly normal.
It's taken me months but I finally got someone to listen to me about how much I have been bleeding and after they did an Ultra Sound and found the thickened lining they started talking cancer.
I'm very nervous about what the biopsy will show... I'm 39 and we are done having kids, but I'm just worried that they will find cancerous cells and if they do, has it spread? It's just so scary! Thanks for listening. _________________ Tammy, mama to 2 beautiful brown eyed girls. |

| I am sorry to hear that you are having problems. I hope it turns out not to be cancer. I have been bleeding and spotting since May 10. I am scheduled for an ultrasound too. So, just hang in there and try not to worry! |

Hi tammykat,
Welcome to the forum! I know its hard not to worry, but sandrak put it well--try not to worry. Yes, it is easier said than done. I get results from a biopsy tomorrow myself, after waiting two weeks. But think positive, and hope for the best.
You do seem to have abnormal bleeding by what you describe. This could be resulting from fibroids, endometriosis, and yes, even cancer. Endometriosis will thicken the lining too. Most of the time, it is NOT cancer.
When you get your results, will you please post? My heart goes out to you, to all the women going through this, it is so hard. But without definite answers, it is rather tormenting to go through scenarios in your mind. Think on and hope for the best--for a positive outcome. You are in my prayers,

Thank you so much for the words of encouragement! I watched my paternal grandmother die from cancer that spread throughout her body when I was 8 years old. It spread so fast in fact they were never really sure where it had started but they think it was in the "female region" (that's what I was told later). It's nice to have found a place to go with my concerns/questions. Thank you again for listening and I will definitely post when I have results. _________________ Tammy, mama to 2 beautiful brown eyed girls. |
