|
|
A few days ago, I discovered that one of my testicles was enlarged and had hardened. I would like to go to the doctor to have this checked out in case it turns out to be cancer. However, due to some health insurance issues, it may be 2-3 months before I can make it. Any idea how big of a risk there is in waiting?
Thanks!

There are a few things you can do instead of having a biopsy and you can do some of them now. Check out the A Safe Cancer Test - Is a Biopsy Necessary? section at:

My personal opinion is that you should do whatever is required to get it checked...first thing would probably be an ultra-sound, which is harmless, and something I had done when I thought I had testicular cancer (I just had a small lump,) which turned out to be something else entirely.
I can't stress this enough though...Testicular Cancer is one of the most curable cancers a person can get, but if it is allowed to spread it can still kill you! My wife Lori is only 29-years-old, but is fighting stage IV cancer. It is not fun, it has stolen her youth from her, and caused her much pain and anguish...on top of this it is incredibe that she has lived as long as she has (it's been nearly three years since her diagnosis.) Trust me, please. You don't want to go through this.
If you get this thing checked out soon you and it is cancer, you will most likely be catching it early, and almost guaranteed to beat it. If you let it wait (and I don't think there is anything normal about an enlarged and hardened testicle,) you may live to regret it.
That's just the opinion of a caregiver who has had to watch the woman he loves go through a horrendous experience becasue her cancer was not caught early. Don't let it be you.
Whatever you do, I wish you the best of luck. _________________ -Cary |

Hello
You should seek medical attention immediately. I don't think it is wise to wait for 2-3 months, even if you have to pay for a consultation at this time to know what you're dealing with. As someone mentioned, testicular cancer is very curable, but you need to seek attention soon.
best regards,
