Yeah - eating settles the stomach but I think it's basically not absorbing enough nutrients so maybe 1/2 of the nutrition is satsified and you get hungry a couple hours later.

It's all for rich foods in protein and fats so I've learned to do small meals - maybe half an Octoberfest, a couple small red potatoes sliced and a couple of eggs - - that satisfies me for maybe 3 hours.
I'm using smallish bowls so it feels like a real meal.
A burger satisfies as well, maybe 3-400 calories but has to be protein and fat rich.

Cereal and fruit that I would normally snack on does nothing...I'm hungry in a flash and the fruit I have to watch with digestion. Sad I love fruit but I've been sticking with bananas.

It's funny cruising the fridge as clearly my body is looking for certain categories.

Part of it too is the chemo for me means more saliva and that's a secondary eating trigger.

I'm pretty sure it's related to cell shedding in the small intestine so my nutrient uptake is mucked.....body wnats something it's not getting and despite the rich diet my weight is down just a tad so I know I'm not absorbing what I'm eating.

The doc said eat when I asked about it.....so it's sort of fun to indulge.

Very Happy

Hi Singledad

Be careful...the steroids will ramp you appetite up, but if you are not careful you will chuck your guts up. You won't know if you have overdone until you are driving the procelain bus by which time it is too late. I put on 2 kilos during my chemo and apprently with R CHOP this is not unusual. Be very careful by all means eat but try your hardest not to overeat.

Good luck Smile

Buzzy today - ton of energy despite the rain ( tho it was a sprng rain - birds singing etc )

Hunger easing off tho a bit of headache that's typical for a rainy day.

Woke up way early, tested kid - lots of laundry and tidy up ( someone should market a "get your house clean" steroid dose. )

Fading a bit now.....all caught up on the minor tasks.

Harry Potter and a snooze calls.

Very rainy day - set a 50 year record.
Lots done early - then a slow morning.
Great late afternoon nap.
Feel very centred and well this evening.

Partly weather related - always feel this way on the back side of a storm system.

Not so hungry and tummy mostly settled....need to snag some tea tho.

Energy up and down all weekend. Go go go ....crash......go go go ....crash.
I'm just riding with it not trying to fight it.....

Pretty wild swings ......not many side effects on this cycle so far - mouth a bit sore today.

Appetite settling down .
Itchy that feels like healing internally has moved to fingers and fingers very hot and cold sensitive.

Best day in terms of energy ....crashes were not so pronounced.

Mouth okay, no headache and appetite down but good.

Got a lift last night.

Don't know if anyone is an Idol fan but I think Adam's performance of Mad World is the perfect theme song for this forum.....Wink

Perhaps THE most moving performance in the 8 year history and I've watched most of it.
Even Simon the grinch knew it..... the kid was BORN to entertain.

Bio at the beginning is cute - the performance after...unreal.

Been running around in my head all day and a perfect match to my mood.
Enjoy
