Hey Chemoman...Thanks for Asking! I have been very busy and have not had much time to read too many of the threads. I am the Executor of my Mother's Estate and have been working with lawyers, her Financial Advisors and my brothers to try to get things settled. It takes time and patience and I am not real good with $...and she had a lot of it tucked away here and there...almost all of it in Stocks and Bonds. Her father was a very shrewd stock broker, and set her up pretty well and she didn't spend it on herself.

Plus we have her house, which had an elusive cat in it until my brother grabbed it the other night to give it to a "good home". He has a severely scratched arm and ripped shirt to show for it.

My son came back from Haiti after doing a year of "mission" work and he was staying with us for a few weeks. Even grown kids do not clean up after themselves.

Well, after 6 R-CVP's, almost all of the nodes are significantly reduced but not all of them are gone. Some have resolved themselves. There are two persistent ones that have not gone down and one that has slightly increased. So the lymphoma has been responsive but not to the degree that my Oncologist, and I, would have liked to see. My wife thought it could be due to the fact that I still drink about two beers a night.

So, the "game plan" is to do two sessions of R-CHOP to see if there is more of a response than with R-CVP. I will start that on Tuesday...not really looking forward to it...but there are worse things to do.

If things are not in remission after that...then he said he has more "tricks up his sleeve."

Now the Good News...the Oncologist said that there is NO WAY the beer could have reduced the effeciveness of the chemo. Good thing...I would be seeking a second opinion.

I've been riding my Harley a lot. Have you been doing any riding??

How are things with you??

See you...Don

G'Day Don Very Happy

I thought you might be busy with estate issues. I was really curious to see how the treatment was going hence my PM, but I also missed ya Wink

Re the treatments the doc may be planning I know you will do the research first before you let him do anything drastic. I think you realize the FHL is very hard to eradicate and the aim of treatment is to stop it progressing, but there is every likelyhood you will live another 20 + years and die of totally unrelated causes. As it stands you and your doctor have done a fantastic job but you need to be strong and make sure the doctor does whats best for you and not ruin things by going overboard. Those links I gave right at the start are still active , go back and revisit them, there may even be new material there by now. The decision to go the extra 2 cycles of R CHOP seems very reasonable, but be careful in trying to do too much.

Bah humbug the beer thing...... 2 beers a day is good for you after all they built the pryamids with beer and garlic and 2 thousand + years later they are still standing, in fact they will still be standing when civilisation has ended Laughing I'm not drinking beer now BTW too many calories, however a glass or 2 of charddonay is very nice with dinner Very Happy As we live right near the Barossa valley we get the good stuff cheap Wink

Not too much chance for riding the last I did on the Vulcan was 3 weekends ago. Swine flu and the spring gales intervened since then. but I did get to go out on my mates farm this weekend and managed to drop his aggie bike..... apart from a bruised ego and shin it was nothing to get excited about.

Anyway Don great to hear from you again

Cheers mate Laughing

Hi Don. Glad to hear that the R-CVP has helped, hope the R-CHOP will finish the job!
