Question A friend we have made on this cancer road has said that he is going in for surgery to have 'his esophagus removed' :
Confused
Is this possible?
Or did I misunderstand something?

It is not only possible but common for people with esophageal cancers. Usually, it means just removing a part of the esophagus and not all of it. In some cases that I have heard of it means making part of the stomach into a sudo-esophagus.
