Hi. I am 40 and this year had a mastectomy, reconstruction, chemo & radiation. During my chemo prep, they did a pelvic CT with contrast that was "unremarkable." 4 months ago I started bleeding heavily and having periods every couple weeks or so. I can't leave my bed during that time because I soak the sheets and my clothes and am lightheaded.

My TV ultrasound last month simply mentioned a "probable fibroid" in the fundus and a "poorly homogeenous" endometrial stripe of 10 mm at day 9 of my cycle.

So my questions for you experienced folks are: Wouldn't a fibroid have shown up on the CT back in March? And what does it mean if my stripe is poorly homogeneous? Is that thick for day 9?

Luckily this morning the gyno oncology office called and are fitting me in tomorrow, but it's so hard to wait. I've already been through so much this year. Can't they tell a fibroid from a cancer on ultrasound? The report was so vague, it seemed like the technician was a newbie or something.

Thanks for any info.

Hi stavmom. I am very sorry about your cancer and current health problems. I really do not have any answers for you. I hope someone with more information than I will reply. You might want to post your question in the breast cancer forum as well.

You also might want to do a search for similar questions. Since the Unterine forum is not one of our most active, you might want to reply to someone who has already posted. Although I generally discourage this because of the risk of "hijacking" another person's topic, in cases like this one, I encourage people to seek out a dialogue where ever they can.

You are in my thoughts and prayers.
