My grandma is pretty sure she has ovarian cancer and some form of colon cancer. There are growths on her ovaries verified by her doctor and she has a growth in her stomach area that is visible, also with symptoms of extreme constipation. I have no idea what stages the cancers are at or if one caused the other, but I do know that they must be cancer because the doctors are beating around the bush and not using the term, which tips me off to think that it is cancer and they just won't tell her.

One thing I do know is that she is refusing treatment for everything. She won't even get any more tests done for three months because she believes she's had too much radiation from xrays and the like. She won't take drugs or chemo for her cancer.

I would like to know what are the chances of her survival? Are we talking 3 months to a year?

It very much depends on what stage the cancer is at and where it has metastasized. Can you go to an appointment with her and point blank ask the doctor what stage/type of cancer she has? If he does not know, find a new doctor. I wish I could give you an idea, but I don't think anyone could make a fair guess without knowing the type of cancer she has and what stage it's at.

My sister was diagnosed with cervical cancer and she also had hardened growths in her abdomen. The Gyn had us all thinking the worst. But when she went to see an oncologist, he gave her hope but told her they would have to operate to know for sure what was going on with the cancer.

During the operation, it was determined the cancer was in situ I think is what they called it. The cancer hadn't spread; they gave her a radical hysterectomy and said they were able to get all the cancer. The growths on her abdomen were fibroid tumors and weren't cancerous.

Tell your grandmother to do what the oncologist says and have an operation. Without treatment the cancer will almost certainly spread and get worse.
