A little over 2 months ago my grandfather was diagnosed with liver cancer. Due to all his other medical complications there wasn't many options for treatment. At the end of August he started a pill that wouldn't shrink his cancer only prevent it from growing bigger (no guaranties) Told it would buy us some time to spend together. 9-12 months is what they said. He seemed fine just more tired than usual. We then decided to just let go and let GOD as we made memories. On Saturday October 31st I called him all day with no response. As I grew more worried I decided to google his cancer. It led me to here. Tears fell as I read people's stories.Later on that evening I got a call from his roomate who sent him to the hospital for what we thought was diabetic shock since he hadn't been eatin so well due to all the fluid build up. While in the E.R. I snuck him some chocolate as soon as I arrived. Within minutes he seemed to be responding. The staff said they would monitor him overnight and I could pick him up in the morning. I went back at 8:00 am the next morning only to find him worst than the night before. I figured he was tired so I fed him some apple sauce and put him down for a nap so I could get my kids to the sitter and be back in time to feed him lunch. I wasn't gone for more than an 40 minutes when I got a call from his Doctor telling me to rush back. They'd put him on life support. I called my family and they came to say their final goodbye's. He left this world at 4:30 monday morning November 2nd. I believe this site came to me to prepare me for what I was about to endure. I only wish I had found it sooner. Love your family and friend's as if today is your last day together and cherish every moment spent together as if they were the greatest treasure you'll ever have. God bless each and every one of you and you'll be in my prayers. Please remember to "Take Nothing for Granted"...
