In early Aug my mom had flu like symptoms that wouldn't go away. Sinisitus and the flu were ruled out twice (It will run its coarse, you'll be better soon). A few days (or week) later she became hoarse. We were told it was Small Cell Lung Cancer the last few days of Aug. We ran 2 cycles of chemo.. the first landing her in the hospital with severe neutropenia.. and needing two units of blood.. and the most recent.. the same.. along with a collapsed lung.

This happened way to quick. I regret not doing/saying this -and that. I knew this was a particularly vicious cancer but I had no idea it would happen so soon. I guess I had no idea she was as sick as she was and now I feel I should've been there 24/7

I'm okay though. It's comforting to know she's no longer in pain.

Jalee,

I am sorry to hear about the passing of your mom. Please don't question yourself like that; this disease effects people so differently--you cannot foresee the timing and you took an active interest in her care, as evident by your postings. I offer my condolences, and yes, she is no longer in pain.
You are in my prayers today.

Rhonda

((JaLee))

I'm sorry to hear this news. My sincere condolences on your Mom's passing.

Rhonda is right -- often the end comes very abruptly and there is no way of knowing. Please don't have regrets. You were a caring daughter.

God bless you,
PBJ
