Thanks, that is a great song! Though the fact that Bob Marley died young from cancer makes this less than ideal from an inspirational standpoint. Embarassed

Hi Joepet

Most people think he died from lung or throat cancer. He actually died from melanoma, he never bothered about his skin and the risk of skin cancer because of his african heritage, but he forgot about his caucsian ancestors.

Anyway the song is uplifting and positive, Marleys demise is neither here nor there, after all as the romans said mors vincit omnia (death conquers all). Marley was diagnosed in 1977 but after that he stormed the world and had his best years, and lived to 1981, so you could say that everthing WAS alright.

Thanks for the song Aisha it did the trick Very Happy

Someone had told me a while ago that he had banged his big toe, then it was infected and he ignored it. It started to get worse (become cancerous), and he continued to ignore it! Just goes to show what can happen when you ignore things most of the time I suppose.

Yeah that song is nice. Easy to listen to and really made me feel good when I took the taxi to the hospital for my hickman yesterday. It was playing in the background and I thought 'how appropriate!'

Cheers!

Hi Aisha

The true story

from wikipedia

In July 1977, Marley was found to have acral lentiginous melanoma, a form of malignant melanoma, in a wound reportedly picked up in a friendly football match. After the album Uprising was released in May 1980 the band completed a major tour of Europe, where they played their biggest ever concert, to a hundred thousand people in Milan. After the tour Marley went to America, where he performed two shows at Madison Square Garden as part of the Uprising Tour. Shortly afterwards his illness deteriorated and he became very ill, the cancer had spread throughout his body. The rest of the tour was cancelled and Marley sought treatment at the Bavarian clinic of Josef Issels, where he received a controversial type of cancer therapy partly based on avoidance of certain foods, drinks and other substances. After fighting the cancer without success for eight months he boarded a plane for his home in Jamaica.

That was informative, thanks.

I suppose we are all victims in one way or another. We all have to die as well - and like havefaith said, it i better to live a good short life than a long and shallow one.

My uncle used to say 'live fast, dye young and have a good looking corpse'! Laughing Laughing He was a bit mental. He is burried next to my mum, and they have written it on his grave stone. Laughing

Anyway...........don't worry is the message here in this forum, we have 'don't painc', and then when diagnosed.....'don't worry'! Wink

Cheers guys.
