Thanks Topazil! I truly believe that all the people on this forum and those that are not that are battling cancer are the real fighters in this world. You and them should get all the Gold Belts of life.

Encouragement for all! Husband had surgery Thursday. His scan showed two mets in the liver. After surgery and pathology only one met was malignant. Just goes to show can't believe everything you see!
It was scar tissue from his surgery in 2006 that looked metastatic on scan.
Tolerated surgery well. Heart rate is very elevated but hopefully will come down when pain is more bearable. Ruled out any bleeds or clots. Only one drain tube this time and artery port. Overall, everything is good. Temp is rising a bit but to be expected.
Thanks for all the prayers and thoughts. They are very much appreciated.

Thanks for the prayers and well wishes. Heart rate is now around 100. Hopefully will be lower tomorrow. Off the PCA and on oral pain meds. Moving more and a little easier. If no complications arise, should be coming home on Tuesday. Some of his numbers are still out of whack so need to get all of them stable before discharge. His color is much improved today, losing that yellow tinge.
Keeping you in my prayers,
Lucinda |

| i'm glad it went good. i've had a hard time with my hip' the burn got worse each day for the two weeks i've been home and was becoming too much pain for me. no way toget any rest. so they called me in today a.s.a.p. turns out i had deep absess that was causing the pressurte and thus the throbbing pain. went expecting to be anmitted but was tossed on a table and the skin was removed all the way to the bone. i now have a whole to the bone with gause rolled up and punched in as tight as possible. we change it am & pm. until monday when i see the plastic surgeon.most pain left when he cut the absess.i wasen't given any thing to dull the cutting but it wasen'that bad. so i'm back home till monday. the liver ablation went smooth. .....god bless ....bruce henderson |

Wow Bruce! That sounds very painful! Hope it subsides until they can do something about it. They do so many things to patients these days without drugs or hospital admittance. Hope you keep it clean and have no other complications.
Hubby had a rough day yesterday. Nausea all day. They put him back on IV fluids. They did remove his drain around 1am. They are just going to watch him today to see if he can eat and poop. If all goes well, should go home tomorrow. He has developed PVCs which could be due to lack of fluids or potassium and magnesium levels being out of whack.
Take care and I will be praying for you.

We were to be discharged today but it has not happened. Lots of pain and nausea this am. Better now. Not sure if he will get out today or tomorrow. Think he could be pregnant? He has morning sickness the last 2 mornings. they give him anti-nausea and the it clears. Just kidding about being pregnant. Still on hte pain meds. Very liitle bowel sounds. Hurry up and wait..... Really I don't want him to go home until he can eat and poop with pain or nausea.
Take care all! |

| hope hes feeling a bit better as time passes. those darn bowels take forever to wake up sometimes -moms second surgery seemed to take forever-where this last one was only a day -but she too was having nausea big time. It is a shock to the body-moms main problem was the medications they gave her for pain was what was giving her the nausea. |
